Product Description If food dropped like rain from the sky, wouldn't it be marvelous! Or would it? It could, after all, be messy. And you'd have no choice. What if you didn't like what fell? Or what if too much came? Have you ever thought of what it might be like to be squashed flat by a pancake? |
Customers Reviews 2009-01-08 17 Years Later and I Still Love This Book I remember buying a copy of this book when I was 11 years old. We had a book fair at my school and I spent all of my allowance on it, a coloring book, and an Irish folklore hardback.
I recently bought this book again for myself as I lost my first copy years ago. As the book is centered around food, I usually read it while enjoying a grilled cheese sandwich. It's the perfect "snack book".
Even though I'm almost 30, I still find the story to be hilarious and entertaining. I love the idea of hot dogs dropping from the clouds and donuts rolling over cars in the street. Classic!
I look forward to reading this book to my future children and enjoying it for years. | 2008-12-12 WARNING: Reading Level Ages 9 - 12 i "searched inside" the book, and liked what i saw. then, when i saw the first reader's comment about how she read the book to a 3.5-year-old, i sampled other reviews, then bought the book for my 5-year-old grandson.
i would *never* read it to him now lest it give him bad dreams. but i learned my lesson: always check the age recommendations, for this book 9 - 12 years old.
for that age and above, it's a terrific book--clever drawings, well-paced story, and full engagement of the imagination of children and adults. | 2008-11-29 Funny with Great Illustrations Good Night Lullabies My two grandsons, ages 4 and 6, liked this book a lot. It appealed to their imaginations and the illustrations were excellent. The story loses a bit of momentun at the end, and lost the kid's interest a bit. But, overall, a fun book. | 2008-11-13 Be Aware! the book has been rewritten since we were kids! I purchased a newer version of my childhood favorite book and found that it is not the same book. Alas, someone decided it needed to be edited to make it more PC and to add some other changes that really make no sense at all. If you're a die-hard fan of the book from your childhood, be sure to get an older used copy! | 2008-11-10 Great Book I loved this book when I was little, and I bought it for my son. This is one of his favorite books now too. It's really a fun story. |
